Consulting-only role | 15-minute consults | 4-day week

If you became a vet to help pets, not to rush past them

If you are at a stage where you want time to properly consult, build relationships with clients, and practise medicine that genuinely aligns with your values, this role is worth a closer look.

The Opportunity

We are working with a purpose-led veterinary charity clinic in Blackburn, that has built something genuinely different. This is a consulting-only Veterinary Surgeon role, designed for vets who enjoy the diagnostic and relationship-building side of practice without the pressure of surgical rotas.

You will be part of a friendly, experienced team delivering accessible veterinary care to the local community. The focus here is on doing the right thing clinically, not on targets, upselling, or hierarchy. Every team member has a voice, and collaboration sits at the heart of how the clinic operates.

The organisation exists to remove barriers to care. Free consultations, transparent pricing, and a strong ethical framework allow vets to practise medicine in a way that feels honest, fair, and sustainable.

Why This Role Is Different

Time to Practise Properly

You will work to 15-minute consultations, giving you the space to think, explain, and make well-considered clinical decisions without constantly watching the clock.

Consulting Only, By Design

This is a non-surgical role, ideal if you love consulting, case continuity, and client communication, or if you are seeking a more sustainable long-term clinical path.

No Hierarchy, Just Teamwork

The clinic operates without traditional hierarchy. Vets, nurses, and support staff work collaboratively, with shared responsibility for clinical standards and patient outcomes.

Your Journey Here

In Your First Month
You will settle into the consulting rota, get to know the systems and team, and build confidence with the client base and caseload.

By Three Months
You will be consulting independently with strong support around you, managing a varied caseload, and contributing ideas within a collaborative clinical environment.

By Six Months
You will feel fully embedded in the team, delivering high-quality consults with confidence, and potentially exploring funded CPD or certificate options aligned with your interests.
