Independent practice. Genuine work life balance. Clinical freedom you can actually feel.

If you became a vet to care properly, not just cope.

If you are an experienced GP vet who still loves the job but feels worn down by pressure, pace, or lack of support, this role is worth a closer look. This is about practising good medicine, feeling valued for what you bring, and having the space to enjoy life outside the clinic.

The Opportunity

We are working with a proudly independent veterinary group in Worthing that has built something deliberately different. This is a practice shaped by values, not targets. A place where people are trusted to do the right thing for their patients, their clients, and themselves.

You will be based at a busy branch clinic, supported by a wider group that includes a dedicated hospital, an experienced night team, and an established referral service. The structure is there to support you, not to control you. The culture is warm, respectful, and collaborative, with a real sense of belonging from the moment you walk in.

This role suits a Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys general practice, values continuity of care, and wants to work in an environment where clinical judgement is respected and teamwork genuinely matters.

Why This Role Is Different

Clinical support that works

You are never isolated. The branch clinics work closely with the group hospital, emergency service, and referral team, meaning complex cases are supported and learning happens naturally through collaboration.

A culture built on kindness and respect

This is a team that values humility, empathy, honesty, and communication. People treat each other well, consistently. That extends to how clients are supported and how challenges are handled day to day.

A space that feels good to work in

The clinics are designed to feel calm and welcoming, with a home from home atmosphere that benefits both clients and the people working there. It is a small detail that makes a big difference to how your day feels.

Independence with purpose

Being independent means freedom. Freedom to practise medicine with a personal touch. Freedom to prioritise quality over speed. Freedom to shape how you work, within a supportive and stable structure.

Your Journey Here

In your first month, you will focus on settling in, building relationships with the team, and getting comfortable with how the group works together across sites.

By three months, you will be confidently managing your own caseload, collaborating closely with the hospital and referral teams, and starting to shape your role around your interests.

By six months, you will be fully embedded as a valued GP vet, with clear development plans in place, whether that is pursuing a certificate, expanding a clinical interest, or contributing more broadly to the group.
