ECC nursing with purpose. Genuine impact. A team that values you.

If Nights Have Become All Pressure and No Purpose

If you thrive on the intensity of ECC work but are tired of feeling stretched thin, unheard, or like your compassion is running on fumes, this role might be exactly what you have been hoping to find.

The Opportunity

We are working with a busy ECC focused practice in Ellesmere Port that has built something rare: a night service driven by fairness, accessibility, and genuine community impact. This is a team that believes excellent critical care should not be reserved only for clients who can afford it.

Your nights here are shared with another RVN, creating a partnership rather than a solo slog. Together, you will care for a varied inpatient caseload, assist with emergency procedures, stabilise new arrivals, and support the vets with theatre work, when the unexpected happens. There is enough pace to keep your skills sharp, but enough structure and teamwork to help you breathe.

They are looking for a capable, calm night nurse who believes clinical excellence and compassion can co-exist with affordability. Someone who wants their work to matter, not just to be busy.

And success here does not look like being superhuman. It looks like being valued, supported, and trusted for the clinician you are.

Why This Role Is Different

A Mission Driven Clinical Environment

This practice operates as a Community Interest Company, with all profits reinvested into patient care. Their guiding belief is simple: no pet should go untreated when a viable option exists. This means your skills directly open doors for clients who would otherwise struggle to access care.

A Night Team Built for Support

You are never alone. You work alongside another experienced RVN throughout every shift, so patient care is shared, decisions are collaborative, and your load is lighter.

Work That Feels Sustainable

The rota gives you long periods of downtime to recover properly.
Five nights on, five nights off, averaging 42 hours per week, 18:30 to 07:30.

A Culture Without Hierarchy

Every voice matters equally. Vets and nurses contribute ideas, challenge assumptions, and improve protocols together. There is no ivory tower leadership: just a group of people doing their best for animals and each other.

Your Journey Here

In Your First Month:
You will settle into the rhythm of the night team, get to know your fellow RVN and the inpatient ward routines, and familiarise yourself with the clinical pathways designed to increase access to treatment.

In Your First 3 Months:
You will be confidently managing inpatient care overnight, triaging emergencies with calm efficiency, and building a strong collaborative flow with the vets and day team.

In Your First 6 Months:
You will be a trusted senior presence at night, shaping improvements in ECC protocols and potentially exploring funded CPD, that strengthens your clinical interests.
