4-day week. Purpose-led practice. Diverse, hands-on nursing.

If you want your nursing to genuinely matter again.

If you are an experienced RVN who wants more than ticking boxes and rushing appointments, and you would like to use your skills to make a real difference to pets and people, this role is worth your time.

The Opportunity

We are working with a purpose-driven, not-for-profit veterinary organisation in Blackburn, that has built its entire model around accessibility, fairness, and high clinical standards. This is not about upselling or targets. It is about delivering the right care, at the right time, for pets whose owners may otherwise struggle to access treatment.

You will be joining a large, well-equipped clinic, with a genuinely varied caseload. This is a role where nurses are trusted, listened to, and encouraged to use the full breadth of their training every day.

The team works without hierarchy. Nurses, vets, and support staff contribute equally, share ideas openly, and focus on doing what is best for each patient. If you value collaboration, autonomy, and purpose, you will feel at home here.

Why This Role Is Different

A clinic built for proper nursing

  • Three theatres, including a dedicated dental suite with dental X-ray
  • Seven consulting rooms, supporting nurse-led clinics and continuity of care
  • A busy surgical caseload, including orthopaedics, where nurses are actively involved

A genuinely diverse caseload

  • Preventive care, medical nursing, dentistry, anaesthesia, and surgical support
  • Cases that challenge you clinically and help you continue developing your confidence

A culture without hierarchy

  • Flat structure where your voice matters
  • Shared responsibility for standards, ideas, and improvements
  • A supportive environment where people stay because they feel valued

Values you can stand behind

  • A Community Interest Company with a clear mission
  • Free consultations and transparent pricing to remove barriers to care
  • A commitment that no pet should go untreated when a viable option exists

Your Journey Here

In your first month, you will focus on settling in, building relationships with the team, and becoming comfortable with systems, workflows, and the wide-ranging caseload.

By three months, you will be confidently running nurse consults, supporting complex procedures, and contributing your ideas to how the clinic continues to improve patient care.

By six months, you will be a trusted and established member of the nursing team, fully embedded in the culture, potentially pursuing funded CPD or certificates, and helping shape how nursing is delivered within the practice.
