Flexible hours. A genuinely supportive nursing team. Work that fits around your life, not the other way round.

If you want a nursing role that respects your life outside work

If you are a qualified RVN who loves patient care but feels boxed in by rigid rotas, unrealistic expectations, or a lack of flexibility, this role is worth a closer look. This is a position built around trust, balance, and being treated like a professional, not a number.

The Opportunity

We are working with a well established small animal practice in Cornwall, that has quietly built something special. It is a place where nurses are listened to, supported, and trusted to do their job well.

This team is looking to welcome a compassionate and motivated Veterinary Nurse who enjoys both the clinical side of nursing and the human side, supporting clients with empathy and clear communication. They are not looking to squeeze someone into a gap. They are looking for the right person to join a stable, friendly nursing team and grow with them.

The role is genuinely flexible. Full time, part time, or out of hours only options are all on the table. Hours can be shaped around home and family commitments, creating a work life balance that is actually achievable.

Why This Role Is Different

A large, experienced nursing team around you

You will be joining a collaborative team of 16 experienced nurses, meaning there is always support, shared knowledge, and someone to lean on when needed. This is not a lone nurse role where everything falls on your shoulders.

Nursing is valued and fully utilised

Your day will include assisting with consults, procedures and surgeries, providing high quality inpatient care, and working within the laboratory to deliver timely diagnostics. Nursing skills are used properly here, not side lined.

Flexibility that is real, not promised

Whether you are looking for full time hours, part time work, or purely out of hours shifts, the practice is open minded and accommodating. Rotas are built with real lives in mind.

High standards without a high pressure culture

Clinical excellence and hygiene standards matter, but they are upheld through teamwork and support, not fear or blame. It is a calm, respectful environment to do good work.

Your Journey Here

In your first month, you will focus on settling in, getting to know the team, and becoming comfortable with the practice systems and routines, with plenty of support around you.

By three months, you will be confidently contributing across consults, inpatient care, theatre, and the lab, building strong relationships with both colleagues and clients.

By six months, you will feel like a true part of the team, trusted in your role, contributing ideas, and making the most of funded CPD to continue developing in areas that interest you.
