Full-time, no on-call, genuine leadership role in a close-knit London village practice

When you are ready to step up, without burning out

If you are an experienced RVN who enjoys leading others but still wants to feel supported, valued, and human at work, this could be the role that finally feels sustainable.

The Opportunity

We are working with a well-established first opinion practice in Putney, a true riverside London village in Southwest London, known for its community feel and loyal client base. This is a practice where people know each other, clients trust the team, and standards genuinely matter.

The team is almost complete and now looking for a Senior RVN to work alongside a newly appointed Senior Vet. This is not about firefighting or filling gaps. It is about helping shape how the practice runs day to day, supporting colleagues, and setting the tone for excellent patient and client care.

You will be joining a small, stable team of one senior vet, one associate vet, and an experienced clinical support team who value relationships, consistency, and doing things properly.

Why This Role Is Different

A leadership role with real influence

As Senior RVN, you will work closely with the Senior Vet to keep the practice running smoothly. This includes diary management, equipment maintenance, team engagement, and clinical standards. Leadership training is provided, so you are supported as you step into or continue in a senior role.

Predictable hours and no on-call

Your 40-hour week can be worked across four days, with a 1:4 Saturday branch rota and a 1:10 Sunday rota at the nearby 24-hour hospital. There are no on-call requirements, ever. Out-of-hours care is fully handled by the hospital, just 15 to 30 minutes away.

A genuinely lovely client base

The team consistently describes their clients as kind, engaged, and largely insured, which allows you to focus on care rather than constant financial conflict. This makes day-to-day nursing far more rewarding.

Clinical responsibility and variety

You will be actively involved in theatre, consultations, Schedule 3 procedures, controlled drugs audits, equipment upkeep, and maintaining high nursing standards across the practice. You will also support and supervise student nurses, helping shape the next generation.

Your Journey Here

In your first month, you will focus on settling in, building trust with the team, and understanding how the practice operates day to day, with support from both the Senior Vet and Regional Manager.

By three months, you will be confidently overseeing nursing standards, managing workflows, supporting reception colleagues, and contributing ideas that improve how the practice runs.

By six months, you will be a key leader within the practice, mentoring others, maintaining clinical excellence, and feeling genuinely proud of the environment you help create.
