About the Role

Join a modern hospital opened in 2021 with state-of-the-art diagnostics including CT, advanced ultrasound (cardiology-capable), dual theatres, endoscopy, and in-house lab support. You’ll be part of a 14-vet team covering general practice and specialist caseloads in medicine, cardiology, neurology, and more. Regular multidisciplinary case rounds and dedicated development “reset days” ensure continuous learning.

The Rota

  • Weekend duties are limited to 1:8 daytime shifts (Sat or Sun) + 1:8 short weekday shifts, with time off in lieu

  • A full hour for lunch and protected admin time built into the diary

About the Practice

The practice started in the 1960s and has grown into a multi-site group centered around a hospital that values clinical freedom and collaborative care. You’ll be supported by experienced clinicians, including an in-house Advanced Practitioner in Soft Tissue Surgery who supports clinical development onsite. A strong culture of colleague support and team wellbeing shapes the working environment.

Staff engagement is valued, with social events like BBQs, charity hikes (e.g. Yorkshire Three Peaks), and educational forums integrated into the practice culture.

Location, Location, Location

Located in Kettering, this modern hospital is well-connected by train and road, with easy access to Cambridge, London, Nottingham, Birmingham, and Luton/Stansted airports. The area combines market-town charm with nearby countryside, pubs, and local amenities.

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll be a vet with some experience (recent VetGDP completer or beyond), a passion for medical casework and diagnostics, and a collaborative mindset. Clinical curiosity, interest in internal medicine or imaging, and a desire to grow within a supportive team are key.
