4-day week. No hierarchy. Medicine with purpose, not pressure.

If you want your clinical decisions to be guided by what is right, not what is profitable

And if you are looking for a role where your voice genuinely matters, this could be the change you have been quietly hoping for.

The Opportunity

We are working with a community-focused veterinary organisation in Telford, that has deliberately chosen to do things differently. This is not a practice driven by targets, upselling, or rigid hierarchy. It is a place where experienced vets are trusted, supported, and given the time to practice good medicine.

This team operates on a flat structure. There are no layers of management separating you from decision-making. Every vet and nurse contributes equally to clinical discussions, service development, and how the practice evolves.

They are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who values collaboration, ethical decision-making, and continuity of care. Someone who wants to be part of a team where pets are treated because they need care, not because they can afford gold-standard pricing.

Why This Role Is Different

A genuinely ethical mission, lived daily

This organisation exists to ensure no pet goes untreated, or faces euthanasia, when there is a viable treatment option. Free consultations and transparent pricing remove barriers for clients, allowing you to focus on medicine rather than money conversations.

Flat structure, real autonomy

There is no clinical hierarchy here. Your experience is respected, your opinions are welcomed, and your ideas can shape how the service develops. Decisions are made together, not handed down.

Work-life balance that is actually protected

You will work 38 hours across a true 4-day week, with a 2-in-9 Saturday rota, currently supported by a nearby hospital site. Bank holidays are shared fairly across the team.

Strong clinical support and development

CPD is fully funded, including UK and international CPD to certificate level. If you want to deepen your clinical interests, this practice will actively support that journey.

Your Journey Here

In your first month, you will settle into the team, understand how the flat structure works, and build confidence with systems and caseloads. Support is there, but without micromanagement.

By three months, you will be managing cases confidently, contributing to clinical discussions, and beginning to explore CPD or certificate pathways that align with your interests.

By six months, you will be an established and valued voice within the team, shaping clinical decisions and contributing to the long-term mission of accessible veterinary care.
