Four-day week. Genuine clinical support in a well-equipped, community-focused practice.
If you’re ready to enjoy being a vet again…
If you are a small animal vet with a couple of years under your belt, confident in routine surgery but craving a team where you feel supported rather than stretched, this could be the move that brings the spark back.
The Opportunity
We are working with a modern, progressive small animal practice in North London that has built its reputation on doing first opinion work properly. Not rushed. Not transactional. Just thoughtful, thorough veterinary care delivered by people who genuinely enjoy working together.
You will join a settled team of 5 vets, in a clinic that has invested heavily in both its facilities and its people. They are not looking to plug a gap. They are looking for a vet who wants to be part of the long term journey, someone who values collaboration, high standards, and a loyal client base that trusts their advice.
Situated in a vibrant village style high street with independent shops, cafés and excellent transport links, the practice has a true community feel. Clients know the team by name. Continuity of care matters here.
Why This Role Is Different
A Properly Equipped First Opinion Environment
You will have everything you need to work cases up to a high standard, including:
- Digital x ray and digital dental x ray
- Ultrasound
- In house laboratory
- Dedicated surgical and dental facilities
This is a practice that believes good medicine requires good tools, and they have invested accordingly.
Time to Do the Job Well
Consults are by appointment only, with a minimum of 15 minutes per patient. That means space to think, explain, and build client relationships rather than racing the clock.
Recognised Standards and Values
The practice is RCVS Practice Standards Scheme accredited at Core level, Cat Friendly accredited, and holds an Investors in the Environment award. They are actively working towards further accreditations, including Dog Friendly status. Standards here are not just words on a wall.
A Culture of Development
As a nurse training practice, learning is part of everyday life. Structured graduate support is in place, and vets are encouraged to pursue certificates with funding available. If you want to grow, you will be backed.
Your Journey Here
In Your First Month
You will focus on getting to know the team, understanding how the practice runs, and building trust with clients. You will be supported as you settle into their systems and caseload.
By Three Months
You will be confidently managing routine surgeries and consultations, contributing to case discussions, and beginning to shape your CPD pathway, whether that is a certificate or developing a particular clinical interest.
By Six Months
You will be a fully embedded member of the team, trusted by clients, contributing ideas, and potentially progressing towards funded further qualifications if that aligns with your goals.
