4-day week. No out-of-hours. Hospital-level nursing with genuine progression.

If You Want to Practice Proper Nursing, Not Just Get Through the Day

If you are an RVN who takes pride in high standards, enjoys being part of a skilled team, and wants time and energy left for life outside work, this role is worth your attention.

This is a position designed for nurses who want to feel valued, trusted, and supported to grow, not rushed, stretched thin, or overlooked.

The Opportunity

We are working with a well-established, hospital-based veterinary practice in Wiltshire that has built a reputation for clinical excellence and thoughtful team culture.

This is a Tier 3 Veterinary Hospital, purpose-equipped to support advanced nursing care. The nursing team plays a central role in patient outcomes, from diagnostics through to recovery and long-term care. You will be working alongside experienced vets, fellow RVNs, and a dedicated night team, allowing daytime nurses to focus on what they do best.

They are looking for a committed, enthusiastic RVN who enjoys being part of a collaborative environment and who may also have an interest in supporting student nurses and the next generation of the profession.

Why This Role Is Different

Hospital-Level Nursing, Properly Supported

You will be working in a setting with direct digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, laparoscopy, video endoscopy, and a fully equipped in-house laboratory with dedicated lab support. Advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures are carried out on site, giving nurses real involvement in complex case management.

A Work-Life Balance That Is Actually Protected

This is a genuine 4-day working week, averaging 36 hours, with no out-of-hours. A dedicated night team covers overnight care, so your time off stays yours.

A Team That Values Skill and Development

The nursing team is close-knit, experienced, and supportive. There is a strong culture of sharing knowledge, encouraging development, and recognising contribution. Nurses with an interest in mentoring or teaching are actively supported.

Recognised Standards of Care

The practice holds Tier 3 Hospital status and an ISFM Cat Friendly Practice Gold Award, reflecting a consistent commitment to patient welfare and high clinical standards.

Your Journey Here

In Your First Month:
You will focus on settling into the hospital, building relationships with the nursing and veterinary teams, and becoming confident with systems, protocols, and equipment.

By Three Months:
You will be working autonomously within the nursing team, contributing fully to patient care, and starting to explore CPD or clinical interests that you would like to develop further.

By Six Months:
You will be a trusted and established member of the team, potentially supporting student nurses, pursuing funded CPD or certificates, and helping shape nursing standards within the hospital.
