No on-call. Modern facilities. Real support for your growth.
If you want to nurse properly, not just get through the day
If you are an RVN who takes pride in high standards, enjoys variety, and wants to feel genuinely valued by the people around you, this role is worth your time.
The Opportunity
We are working with a long-established, RCVS-accredited mixed practice on the west coast of Scotland, with branches in Greenock and Paisley. This is a team that has quietly built an excellent reputation by doing the basics exceptionally well: strong nursing input, loyal clients, and a culture where people look out for one another.
They are now looking for a full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the Greenock branch. Not to plug a gap, but to add another proactive, compassionate nurse who enjoys being involved and wants to develop.
You will be part of a genuinely supportive team of vets, nurses, ACAs and receptionists, all focused on providing excellent first-opinion care and a calm, professional experience for patients and clients alike.
Why This Role Is Different
Nursing is central to how the practice runs
This is not a “hold the patient” role. Nurses are actively involved in inpatient care, theatre, lab work, isolation nursing, and stock management. There is also a clear intention to expand nurse consultations and clinics, with your ideas genuinely welcomed.
Proper facilities that make your job easier
You will be working with:
- Two operating theatres with multi-parameter monitoring
- Karl Storz laparoscopy equipment for laparoscopic spays
- A fully equipped in-house lab with haematology, biochemistry, electrolyte and therapeutic monitoring analysers
- Ultrasound, digital radiography, and a dedicated dental x-ray unit
A rota that respects your life outside work
- 40 hours per week, full-time
- No on-call duties
- 1 in 4 weekends only
- Saturday 8am to 3pm
- Sunday 9am to 12.30pm
Your Journey Here
In your first month, you will settle into the Greenock team, get comfortable with systems and equipment, and build relationships with colleagues who are always willing to help.
By three months, you will be confidently nursing both medical and surgical cases, contributing fully in theatre and the lab, and starting to explore nurse consults or clinics that interest you.
By six months, you will be a trusted, established member of the team, with support to pursue further qualifications or develop specific areas of nursing you are passionate about.
