Looking for clinical freedom without the chaos?

If you are ready to enjoy your work again, with proper time for cases, supportive colleagues around you, and no 2am emergencies pulling you back in, this could be the reset you have been waiting for.

The Opportunity

We are working with a well-established small animal practice in a picturesque Fife village, right on the edge of beautiful countryside yet within easy reach of Perth, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow. It offers the balance many vets talk about but rarely find, meaningful clinical work in a genuinely supportive setting, without sacrificing your life outside the practice.

This is a close-knit, experienced team that has intentionally kept its size small. That means real continuity of care, proper case discussions, and a healthy balance of consultations and surgery. They are not looking to simply fill a rota gap. They are looking for a vet who values collaboration, communicates openly, and wants to be part of something steady and sustainable.

The clinic is fully equipped to a high standard and is recognised as a Gold Standard Cat Friendly Practice by the International Society for Feline Medicine. Patient care is taken seriously here, and so is team wellbeing.

Why This Role Is Different

A Team That Communicates

A small team by design, which means:

  • Continuity of cases rather than conveyor-belt medicine
  • Open discussion of cases and shared decision-making
  • The ability to see work through, not constantly hand it over

High Standards, Without Corporate Pressure

  • Fully equipped practice with everything you would expect for modern small animal care
  • Recognised Gold Standard Cat Friendly status
  • A varied caseload with a genuine mix of consults and surgery
  • Active encouragement of personal development rather than lip service to it

Lifestyle That Actually Feels Balanced

Based in a pretty Fife village near Glenrothes and on the edge of Lomond Hills Regional Park, you can finish work and be in open countryside within minutes. With strong transport links, Perth and Dundee are around 30 minutes away, Edinburgh about an hour, and Glasgow just a little farther. You can choose calm or city life, without compromising either.

Your Journey Here

In Your First Month
You will focus on settling into the team, understanding how cases flow, building relationships with clients, and getting comfortable with the systems and clinical approach. You will not be thrown in unsupported.

By Three Months
You will be confidently managing your own caseload, contributing to case discussions, and shaping your consult and surgical balance. You will likely have identified CPD areas that genuinely interest you.

By Six Months
You will be an established, trusted part of the team. You may be pursuing additional training, refining your surgical interests, and helping influence how the practice develops clinically.
