Lead a brand-new clinic. Shape the culture. Stay hands-on clinically.
Feeling Ready for More Than Just Another Senior Vet Role?
If you’re already leading informally, mentoring others, and thinking “I could do this better if I had the autonomy”, this could be the step you’ve been waiting for.
The Opportunity
We’re working with a forward-thinking veterinary group launching a brand-new clinic in North London, designed from the ground up to do things differently. This isn’t about stepping into someone else’s system. It’s about building one that actually works, for patients, clients, and the team.
They’re looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon who wants to lead. Not just manage, but genuinely shape how a clinic runs. You will have real autonomy within a supportive structure, backed by an experienced leadership team who understand what good looks like and trust you to deliver it.
This is a role where you still spend 80% of your time doing what you love clinically, while also influencing the bigger picture. From team development to client experience, from clinical standards to financial performance, you will be at the centre of it all.
Why This Role Is Different
A Clinic You Can Truly Shape
This is a start-up environment, which means your voice genuinely matters. You will define how the clinic operates locally, from clinical standards to team culture, rather than inheriting outdated processes.
Leadership That Stays Clinical
You will spend the majority of your time in practice, not stuck in an office. This keeps you connected to your team, your patients, and the standards you are setting.
A Clear, Modern Business Model
There is a strong focus on membership and client continuity, with clear KPIs and support to help you succeed. You will understand the numbers and have the authority to influence them.
A Structured, Supported Team
You will directly lead a Practice Manager, Nursing Director, and vet team, with guidance from a wider leadership structure. Regular 1:1s, team meetings, and clear communication are expected, not optional.
A Culture That Takes Wellbeing Seriously
From mental health awareness to open communication systems like VetSafe, this is a team that actively works to create a respectful, inclusive environment where issues are addressed early.
Your Journey Here
In Your First Month
You will focus on building relationships with your team, understanding the clinic setup, and embedding yourself in the clinical workflow. You will start shaping team culture through how you communicate and lead day to day.
By Month Three
You will be confidently leading clinical delivery, running audits, supporting team development, and contributing to strategy. You will begin influencing performance through KPIs, membership growth, and client experience.
By Month Six
You will be the established figurehead of the clinic. The team will look to you for direction, standards will be embedded, and you will be actively shaping both clinical and commercial success.
