7 nights on, 14 off | £60,000 to £75,000 | True work life balance

Tired of sacrificing your life for the night rota?

If you love ECC but hate how it takes over everything else, this role offers a different rhythm. One where your time off is truly yours, not just recovery time between shifts.

The Opportunity

We are working with a well established, purpose built veterinary hospital in Surrey that has designed its night service around sustainability, not survival.

This is a first opinion hospital with a strong clinical ethos and a team that genuinely enjoys working together. They are not looking for someone to simply fill gaps on a rota. They want a night vet who takes pride in delivering exceptional care, values continuity, and enjoys being part of a collaborative, supportive environment.

You will be the calm, capable presence overnight, supported by a team that respects the importance of nights and invests properly in making them work. This is not firefighting. This is structured, well supported ECC within a progressive hospital setting.

Why This Role Is Different

A rota that actually works

  • 7 nights on, 14 nights off, giving you predictable, meaningful downtime
  • Additional holiday on top, so your time off is not just recovery, it is real life

A hospital that invests in doing things properly

  • Modern, fully equipped site with advanced diagnostics and all the tools you would expect from a high standard first opinion hospital
  • Cases managed with clinical freedom and a focus on doing what is right, not what is quickest

A team you will want to be part of

  • Friendly, experienced colleagues who value collaboration over hierarchy
  • A culture where asking questions and sharing ideas is encouraged, not judged

Genuine commitment to progression

  • Generous CPD support with funding available for certificates
  • A team that actively supports your development, not just in theory

The small things that make nights better

  • Thoughtful touches like a well located site, including a bakery next door for those early morning coffees

Your Journey Here

In your first month
You will focus on settling into the rhythm of the hospital, getting to know the team, and becoming familiar with protocols and equipment. You will feel supported, not rushed.

By three months
You will be confidently managing your caseload overnight, making clinical decisions with autonomy while knowing support is there when needed. You will begin shaping how you approach cases and identifying areas of interest.

By six months
You will be an established and trusted part of the team, contributing to clinical discussions and potentially exploring further development, including certificate pathways if that is your goal.
