The Opportunity
We are working with a well-established, multi-site small animal hospital in Long Eaton, that has built its reputation over more than four decades. This is not a team that is constantly reinventing itself. It is one that has grown steadily, invested properly, and created an environment where people tend to stay.
They are now looking for a Consulting RVN to become a key part of their front-line clinical service. This is not about filling a gap. It is about finding someone who genuinely enjoys nurse-led consults, thrives on client communication, and wants to be part of a structured, well-supported hospital setting.
You will rotate across four sites, working alongside other consulting nurses, with protected consulting time and a varied caseload. The focus here is clear. Deliver excellent patient care, build relationships with clients, and be part of a team that treats pets as if they were their own.

This is not a split role. You will spend your time in scheduled consulting sessions, supported by another consulting nurse each weekday, allowing proper time for patient care and client conversations.

Structured rota with breathing space
- 40 hours per week
- 10:00am to 6:00pm shifts
- Alternating weeks for predictable time off
- Only every other Saturday, with a mix of consulting and urgent ops
- No out of hours with a dedicated night team

Your Journey Here
In Your First Month
You will get to know the team, systems, and consulting flow. There is time to settle in properly, with support from experienced nurses and clinicians around you.
By 3 Months
You will be confidently running nurse consults, building rapport with clients, and contributing to patient care decisions. You will start identifying areas of interest for further development.
By 6 Months
You will be an established part of the consulting team, trusted by colleagues and clients alike. You may be pursuing CPD aligned with your interests and helping shape how consulting services evolve.
