No out-of-hours | 20-minute consults | Purpose-built future site with CT
Feeling ready for a role where you can actually do your job properly?
If you’re tired of rushed consults, constant pressure, and never quite having enough time to do cases justice, this could be the change you’ve been looking for.
The Opportunity
We’re working with a well-established small animal practice in Hartlepool that has quietly built something many vets are searching for but rarely find. A genuinely supportive environment where clinical standards come first, and people are given the time and space to do their best work.
This is a growing, forward-thinking team preparing to move into a brand-new, purpose-built site, with plans to expand services even further, including CT. They’re not just hiring to fill gaps. They’re looking for someone who wants to be part of that next chapter. Someone who values collaboration, enjoys variety, and wants to keep developing.
Whether you’re an experienced vet looking for stability and support, or someone ready to step into a more senior, mentoring-focused role, there’s flexibility here to shape the position around you.
Why This Role Is Different
A team that genuinely supports each other
A large, experienced team including multiple certificate holders across surgery, dentistry, imaging, cardiology, and minimally invasive surgery. You’ll be surrounded by people who enjoy sharing knowledge and backing each other up.
Time to actually practice good medicine
- 20-minute consults as standard
- Protected time built into the day for admin and client communication
- Appointment slots held back daily for emergencies
You’re not expected to rush. You’re expected to do things properly.
Serious investment in clinical standards
Across their sites, you’ll have access to:
- Ultrasound
- Digital and dental x-ray
- Endoscopy and laparoscopy
And with a new purpose-built hospital on the horizon, including CT, the clinical scope is only expanding.
A varied caseload without chaos
Busy enough to keep things interesting, but structured well enough that it doesn’t feel overwhelming. Good diary management makes a real difference here.
A lifestyle that’s hard to beat
Based in the North East, you’re close to:
- Stunning coastline and beaches
- Beautiful countryside
- Historic cities like Durham and York
It’s a role that supports both your career and your life outside of work.
Your Journey Here
In Your First Month
You’ll get to know the team, the systems, and how the practice runs day-to-day. There’s space to settle in properly, with support always available when you need it.
By Month Three
You’ll be confidently managing your own caseload, building relationships with clients, and starting to explore areas of interest or development, whether clinical or leadership-focused.
By Month Six
You’ll be an established part of the team. If you’re interested in progression, this could include mentoring junior colleagues or stepping into a more senior or GDP advisory role.
