Purpose-led medicine | Complex, meaningful caseload  | No hierarchy, no ego

If you want your work to genuinely matter again

If you are an experienced vet who believes good medicine should be accessible, not reserved for those who can afford the highest prices, this role will likely resonate deeply with you.

You might be looking for a place where your clinical skills are used to their full potential, where decisions are guided by ethics and outcomes rather than upselling, and where you are trusted as a professional.

The Opportunity

We are working with a purpose-built, not-for-profit veterinary clinic opening in St Helens, created to serve pets and owners who are too often priced out of care. This is not a volume-driven environment or a corporate box-ticking exercise. It is a clinic built around one simple belief: no pet should go untreated when there is a viable option to help them.

You will be joining a team that sees a genuinely varied and rewarding caseload, with a strong focus on sick and injured animals. This is hands-on, meaningful veterinary work where your judgement matters and continuity of care is valued.

The clinic is backed by a well-established 24 hour site nearby, meaning cases are supported properly and patients are never left without care.

Why This Role Is Different

A caseload that keeps you clinically sharp

You will predominantly work up medical and surgical cases that require real problem-solving, not just routine throughput. This is a role for vets who enjoy medicine and want to keep learning.

Facilities that support excellent care

The new site has been designed with both clinicians and patients in mind, including:

  • Two fully equipped theatres
  • A dedicated dental suite with dental X-ray
  • Ultrasound and digital X-ray diagnostics
  • Six consulting rooms
  • Separate dog and cat wards
  • A spacious, calm waiting area

A flat, respectful culture

There is no hierarchy here. Vets, nurses and support teams work collaboratively, with every voice respected. Good ideas are welcomed regardless of job title.

Values you can stand behind

As a Community Interest Company, the focus is not profit maximisation. The priority is sustainability, fairness and access to care, with transparent pricing and free consultations removing barriers for clients.

Your Journey Here

In your first month, you will settle into the team, get to know the systems, and build confidence with the facilities and caseload, supported by colleagues who want you to succeed.

By three months, you will be confidently managing complex cases, contributing your own clinical opinions, and shaping how you approach medicine within the clinic.

By six months, you will be a trusted, established part of the team, with the opportunity to pursue funded CPD or certificates aligned with your interests and strengths.
